Centennial Challenge

2024 marks our Centennial, and with it, lots of reasons to celebrate! As you head out on your next adventure to a New York State park or historic site, we invite you to take on the Centennial Challenge!

We’ve come up with a list of 100 activities to give you a chance to get outdoors and discover our state parks, to learn more about our New York State history at our historic sites, and to give back to preserve all our properties for the next generation.

Complete 24 out of 100 activities, win prizes!
Not sure you can complete all 100 activities in a year? That’s okay! The goal is to complete 24, after which you’ll earn a commemorative Centennial prize, as well as an entry into a random drawing for one of 24 three-year Empire Passes and a Centennial swag bag!

  2. Create an account
  3. Search for “NY State Parks Centennial Challenge” or use the code “NYStateParks100” to join.
  4. Start collecting points! Remember, you only need to complete 24 activities in order to collect 24 points
    and earn your Centennial prize and entry into our promotional giveaway.
  5. Earn more than 24 points? You’ll receive one (1) extra entry into our promotional giveaway for every extra ten (10) points you earn!

  1. Download the checklist here or pick one up at your local state park or historic site.
  2. Start collecting points! Remember, you only need to complete 24 activities in order to collect 24 points and earn your Centennial prize and entry into our promotional giveaway.
  3. Earn more than 24 points? You’ll receive one (1) extra entry into our promotional giveaway for every extra ten (10) points you earn!
  4. Mail in your checklist to the address below once you’ve earned as many points as you can.
