Little Free Libraries

The Friends of Moreau Lake along with a grant from Stewart’s Holiday Giving fund have built, installed and stocked (4) Little Free Libraries around the park. The idea is simple – A Little Free Library is a “take a book, return a book” free book exchange. They come in many shapes and sizes, but the most common version is a small wooden box of books. Anyone may take a book or bring a book to share. Little Free Library book exchanges have a unique, personal touch. There is an understanding that real people are sharing their favorite books with their community; Little Libraries have been called “mini-town squares. Please click here to learn all about the Libraries.

Four libraries were assembled and installed by Scout Troop 24 on May 4th during I Love My Park Day. You can download a map of the locations HERE

All the libraries have been registered with the Little Free Library Organization and we are working on getting them posted on their world map. It is actually a problem with the GPS coordinates not showing the correct location on Google Maps so it is a work in progress to troubleshoot the problem.

This project was made possible with a grant received by the Stewart’s Holiday Match Program
