Love Our NY Lands and Leave No Trace

New York State Parks and the State Department of Environmental Conservation are partnering to encourage visitors at state parks and other state-owned and -managed lands to enjoy their outdoor adventure while protecting these precious natural resources. The Love Our NY Lands campaign recognizes the record numbers of New Yorkers and visitors from around the globe who have discovered that the Empire State’s scenic beauty and exceptional recreation make for the perfect destination.

The campaign offers tips to plan ahead, visit responsibly, and practice Leave No Trace™ principles, so that together we can help ensure these special places are protected for future generations. The goal is to provide visitors with the knowledge and tools necessary to reduce their impact, engage users to practice sustainable and safe recreation, and help all visitors feel welcome while visiting state lands.

Come join the park staff for fun and games promoting Leave No Trace:

April 30th, 1 p.m. Leave No Trace Games
Come to the park and learn about the principles of Leave No Trace from a master educator. We’ll play games that are lots of fun and cause us to think about how to recreate in the outdoors while making the least impact on the environment. Leave No Trace is a set of ethics promoting conservation of the outdoors. This program is geared toward school age children and their families. The cost is $1 per child, payable by cash or check at the office upon your arrival. To reserve your spot call or text 518-917-2174.
