Guided Park Hikes Week of Sept. 14

Evening Overlook to the Hike; 8/15 5:00pm

Join an environmental educator on this evening hike up to the Moreau Overlook. This is a difficult, strenuous hike. It is about 2+ miles round trip with a steep incline. We will stop at the top for a snack and a enjoyable view of the night sky. Please bring a headlamp for our way down. Reservations are required with 24 hour notice, please call 518-912-2304. Cost is $5 for adults and $1 for children. Stop at the park office to pay for this hike then drive down to the bottom parking lot near the playground to begin our hike.

Slithering Snakes Friday 8/17; 4:00pm

Don’t fear our wonderful snakes. Come to this program to learn about the lifestyles of the snakes that live in our nature center and see why they are so great. Reservations are required with 24 hour notice. Please call 518-912-2304. $5 for adults, $1 for children. You will pay at the park office then meet down at the nature center.

Hudson River Kayak Friday 8/17; 09:30am

Join our education department on a lovely kayak on the Hudson River. This section of the Hudson is fairly calm and enjoyable. Whether you are a seasoned vet or a newcomer, this kayak is open to you. If you have never been kayaking before we can show you the proper technique of getting into and out of your kayak along with some basic strokes. Reservations are a must with 24 hour notice. Please call 518-912-2304. $5 for adults, $1 for children. We will meet at the park office then drive over to the boat launch on Spier Falls Road.
