Commemorate an event, memorialize or honor someone special. Due to many requests, the Friends have started a new program that will allow you to:
- honor or memorialize a loved one or;
- recognize an individual or group for achievements or contributions;
You can purchase a 6” x 4” Silver and Black Aluminum Casting Plaque that will be laser etched with the Friends Logo and your own personal words of dedication. The plaque will then be permanently attached to a park bench chosen by you.
Please download the full description of the Commemorative Plaque Program. This document lists the location of every bench around the lake and provides a snapshot view from the perspective of sitting on the bench. The benches are numbered making it easy to select one.
New for 2023 – we are now able to include the purchase/donation of the actual bench. Placement will be mutually agreeable by you and park management. Location is not limited to the lake greatly expanding other opportunities.
Park management has also agreed to review other locations that may have special meaning to you. One such example is the osprey pole nest that was dedicated last fall in memory of a loved one. Other options for permanent attachment at the park are plentiful, including, for example, flower beds, playground structures, bird blinds, or other permanent structures. We will work with you and the park to ensure your remembrance is special.
Proceeds will be used to help fund Friends projects done in partnership with the Park. To see what we did in 2022, please go to What We Do.

The price for a personalized plaque is $100 and $950 for a bench, (which includes a plaque). 100% of the proceeds go directly to our programs. Samples can be viewed below.
