The installation is moving along and is expected to go live the end of the summer. Park Supervisor Alan Trepper is leading the effort along with a group of volunteer astronomers. Using specialty software and a laptop donated by the Friends of Moreau Lake, the telescope will project the images onto a large projector screen to be viewed by everyone instead of having to wait in line to see the images. They are hoping to have stargazing programs twice a month – during and after a full moon.
