Hike for Hemlocks UPDATE!

UPDATE 10/25/2018: From the team leader – “We surveyed the northern end of the park (north of the Hudson) and the interior of the southern half this past week and are happy to report the Hemlock stands were in great health and hemlock woolly adelgid was not found within the park boundaries”.

The team learned about how to identify Hemlocks and the Hemlock Wooly Adelgid. They also signed up for and learned how to use the iMap Invasives program iMapInvasives is managed by the New York Natural Heritage Program (NYNHP), which is a partnership between SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, with funding from the New York State Environmental Protection Fund.
