Instarsia Wood Craft for Auction! Wren in a Tea Cup

All proceeds benefit the Friends mission. This month’s auction item is donated by Intarsia Wood Crafter and Friends of Moreau Lake member Jim Van Amerongen. Jim has been a member of Friends for over 15 years and is well known locally for the hardware business he and his wife ran in Corinth, NY. Upon retiring, Jim fulfilled his desire to work with wood full time and developed his special talent in the Intarsia style of woodworking.

Intarsia is created by segmenting the desired project into pieces, like a jigsaw puzzle. Different species of wood are selected, keeping in mind the natural grain patterns and colors – rather than dyes, stains or paints to form different effects in a project. Pieces are also raised or lowered to create a 3-D effect. The result is a dimensional piece of art comprised of all natural elements that will look amazing mounted on a wall in your home!

Many of you see his work at our annual NatureFest event. The piece being offered here will NOT be at the show so this is an exclusive offering! The piece MUST be picked up at the Park Office unless other arrangements have been made. If you have any questions about the item, please call the office at 518-793-0511; email comments@friendsofmoreaulake.org OR email on the Private Message Tab within the auction item and a member of Friends will get back to you ASAP. All items are “as is” with no refunds offered. Thank you and Happy Bidding! Click on the item for detailed description.
